Why Aren't You Laughing? St. Paddy's Edition

The Kari-Lea Show was back in full force last night, but the luck of the Irish wasn't with us. As we ventured out with new first-time guest Brian McCreery, past-guest Sarah Vowell, and former head of public relations, Laura MacNaughton to Madisons to partake in some St. Patrick's Day Cheer, it became clear that Irish eyes wouldn't be smiling for long. At the end of the night, when asked why she wasn't laughing, Laura noted that she had waited in a line for almost TWO hours to not get into the overrated pub, had lost feeling in her toes, had to listen to an overall expert talk about how she was an overall expert all night, had watched her friends try to choke down 10bs of deep fried food, and had returned to her apartment with very little St. Patrick's day cheer. These were the reasons that she was not laughing.

Since Laura was able to put on such a brave face (see photo) with her friends the cast and crew of The Kari-Lea Show decided to cheer Laura up! She was presented with a free pass to the local hot tub and was given the "go-ahead" to prepare a pancake breakfast. Congratulations Laura. Look at the joy in her face while her dreams come true!

I also have a sad story to share about St. Patrick's Day. Matthew and I (who should have been recognized with superstar status in your couples search, but whatever) went to London for a romantic weekend of fancy dinner and theatre, but our dreams of theatric bliss went out the theatric window. Our hopes of seeing the classic play 'Our Town', were crushed when we realized that the address of the theatre that was listed on the internet was absolutely wrong. There we were, stranded with Matthew's car in the parking lot of a closed library that had nothing to do with our play. We had no idea where to go, and time was ticking on. My heart broke when we finally came to the conclusion that our efforts were in vain, and there would be no play for us. We sadly went back to the Inn, driving by smiling faces, but feeling nothing but pain inside. We watched a South Park marathon instead back at the Inn.
I certainlly wasn't laughing that night. Inside I feel hurt, and a sense of loss. Can you help me Kari-Lea?
